Element: Fit and apply material
  • Lay out work pieces in sequence to meet task requirements
  • Apply materials to furniture in accordance with workplace procedures and industry standards
  • Apply decorative features to materials in accordance with task requirements
  • Secure materials to foundation using appropriate fixing processes
  • Check finish of applied material against task quality requirements
       
Element: Fit and apply trim and decorative features
  • Apply trims and decorative finishes in accordance with task requirements and workplace procedures
  • Check trims and decorative finishes against task and workplace quality requirements
  • Perform required modifications or repairs and make final adjustments to ensure finish meets task and workplace quality requirements
  • Package, protect and store finished product in accordance with workplace procedures
  • Check, clean and store equipment and any unused materials in accordance with workplace procedures
  • Tag unserviceable equipment, identify faults and inform appropriate personnel in accordance with workplace procedures
  • Clean work area, safely dispose of waste and identify items for recycling in accordance with workplace procedures and environmental standards
  • Complete required workplace records

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
